From the opening strains of the cowbell (and it is all about the cowbell, really) the discerning listener will recognize a coded reference to 70's rockers Mountain. In recording "Quadruple Jaw" the Astronauts left a grand legacy for future historians of Flatness -- there are no fewer than 6 alternate takes of this track, just waiting for that proud day when Sony decides to release the Flat boxed set.

This is the Flat Astronauts' tribute to Devo, the seminal New Wave group. Van, Corset, Lipstick, Stars: what do these four words make you think of? This is our answer! Vapor Fellow makes a rare return to the guitar on this track. Before the cream sets out too long, you must whip it.

Is it the gnawing guitar, the incisive sax, or the perhaps that bit about taking a bite from your shoulder blade that really says (in a Sammy Davis, Jr. voice) "Hey, baby, this is one mouth that you don't want to mess with!"

Our final offering from The Vault. This track was recorded at the first "Moons of Anguish" session (for the upcoming Episode 6 of the Celsius Saga). Feel CW Cobalt's pain as he intones the refrain in solitude, to be joined by the rest of the Astronauts in a garage-rock epic that ends in triumph, riding the "Comet's Tail"!
